The Story Behind The Therapeutic Journal

As I sit here, reflecting on the past few months, it’s hard to believe how far I’ve come. It is a feeling of exhaustion, pride and, above all, euphoria. For the last four months I have been working tirelessly to make a dream come true.”The therapeutic magazine«an extension of my mental health blog, Daily Sanity. I have put my heart and soul into this project, which has taken shape in the context of a full-time job, raising a beautiful child, and running a household on my own. However, despite all the responsibilities, it has been a journey that has reaffirmed the power of perseverance, faith and vision that kept me going.

From idea to execution: the journey of a solopreneur

What does it mean to be an individual entrepreneur? Believe me, I realized when I was doing this project alone and the word SOLO kept hitting me. The early mornings, the late nights, the doubts, the creativity and design, the writing, the development and all the little pieces that come together to form a cohesive whole. And it was all done by me. No great team. No fancy assistants. Just me, my laptop, and an unwavering vision with my little one by my side.

Creating The therapeutic magazine It was an idea that came about a while ago, under the guidance of my best and award-winning mentors Brian McNicoll, Christopher DJ Smyth and Catherine Ward. That’s when I participated in the Elevator Academic Accelerator program to learn the ins and outs of starting a business. I had my Blog and my podcast that are working brilliantly but they were not formed on the basis of a business model and I struggled to change their essence. I decided to use all my learning, experience and credibility to offer something meaningful to the women around me.

I wanted to design a journal as a form of self-help tool for mothers that was more than just pages to write in: it had to be a healthy guided experience. A space for moms to release stress, take a break, connect with themselves and take care of their mental health.

But how do you start? The dream was clear, but the reality of turning that dream into something tangible was daunting, believe me, I sat on the idea and almost thought about not doing it. But I knew this was a journey I had to step up to the plate, even if it meant spending time in every corner of my day.

What kept me going?

A key motivator throughout this entire journey has been vision. the vision of mothers everywhere sit with their journals and breathe a sigh of relief as they reconnect with themselves, away from the daily pressures of life. I closed my eyes countless times and visualized this moment. I could see it, I could feel it, and most importantly, I could see how this simple practice of mindful journaling would transform the lives of mothers who too often put themselves at the bottom of the priority list.

The vision was so clear in my mind that it became my fuel. No matter how tired I was or how busy my day was, it was the idea of creating something that could help so many people that kept me going. Whether it was spending nights designing the pages, writing affirmations that might encourage a mother in need, or developing the website that would house it all, it was always the dream that propelled me forward. It was a promise to myself that I wouldn’t let this slip away, no matter what. I kept going to see the end result, to see how far I could go.

The process: building everything from scratch

What many don’t see is the amount of effort that goes into developing a product, especially when you do it all yourself. From the beginning, I knew that creating a journal for moms meant I needed to deeply understand them: what’s wrong with them, how they think, and what they really need from a self-care tool. So, I spent hours researching, brainstorming, and reflecting on my own experiences as a mother. I compiled surveys and collected feedback from mothers from different walks of life, backgrounds, and countries.

Laying out the pages was an art in itself. I wanted each section to have a purpose and provide space for reflection, gratitude, mindfulness, and growth. I created prompts that could guide mothers through their emotions, help them set healthy boundaries, and help them feel grounded in the midst of their busy days. Each page of The therapeutic journal is crafted with love and care, designed to support your mental well-being, one small step at a time. I put a lot of thought into choosing colors, fonts, images and graphics.

I also had to develop a website that was easy to use and beautifully designed. I wanted it to be a space where moms could easily purchase journals and affirmation cards, read more about the benefits of journaling, and make a hassle-free purchase. I spent time researching e-commerce tools, learning the ins and outs of website creation, and writing the perfect copy to meet my audience’s needs.

I am proud to say that I have managed to do all of this on my own, from concept to execution. I’ve used every free minute I could find in my day during lunch breaks, late at night, or early in the morning before the world woke up to work on this project. has been about making the most of 24 hours a dayAnd despite everything, I never lost sight of my dream.
