Runs for Cookies: Denim Refashion

As I said yesterday, I’ve been working on some fun projects lately, sewing more. It all started because I wanted to improve in sewing zippers. When I get the clothes, I like to buy second -hand store clothes and remodel it to my flavor (peculiar). I rarely make clothes or put zippers in anything, but now that I have space for my sewing things (I took care of the free room when Noah moved), I find that I want to use it more. I saw several YouTube videos to obtain council advice and then made a lot of small things, bags and bags, practice.

I have been making a ton of cleaning/spring organization (although it is still frozen here) and when I was organizing the «Handicraft», I decided that I needed to make a great dent in all the remains of denim I have. When I ended with a couple of jeans for any reason, interrupt them and use * each * piece in some way. However, since my weight has not been super drastically from top to bottom, I have not had to replace all my jeans, hahaha. (Note that I said «super» drastically, it is certainly not at the point of being consistent).

All my denim remains had been sitting for a while, so after a lot of inspiration of Pinterest, I came up with a couple of ideas to try. And I love * how they turned out!

The first is a small bag that I started with the intention of becoming a rhythm. And it could be, if I change the belt on it, but I like it as an ordinary car for now. I picked up the seams of the jeans I had cut and fixed them in ranks.

I wanted to keep the whole bag in tones of light and light blue (without dark denim) and did not have enough to do the front and the back like this. Instead, I unlocked the legs of the legs, I ironed them and used them to gather a mosaic back to the bag. I added small belt loops to the sides to hold the D (for the strap) rings and a coating that I thought it congratulated it. A simple zipper at the top. And I didn’t want any pocket, inside or out, so it was easy.

It is the perfect size! It fits exactly what I need (including my Kindle, which I like bringing with the appointments with me and basically anywhere where I can have the opportunity to read) without having random garbage space. This is one of my favorite things that I have done.

After that, I started working on the bits and pieces that were literally small pieces of denim. I wanted to make a large piece of cloth by cutting small squares and together in a grid (as I did years ago with my denim of denim). I cut as many squares of 2×2 as I could and expected it to be enough to make a messaging bag. I needed the piece to be approximately 15 inches by 32 inches. I did not do the calculations or anything, I just expected that when I joined them, it would be at least so big.

It worked *perfectly *. It did not have a single spare square and the finished measurement was 15.5 by 33 inches. Then I had to decide what to align it and I had a dress shirt for very large men with my sewing things for a while (from time to time I will buy goodwill clothes in order to sew later, if I like the fabric). I cut it to use for a lining fabric, and decided to leave the pockets on.

Costing through a million layers of denim is difficult, but the final result was worth it. I love this bag! I am not sure what to do with him, being a messenger bag, but I will solve it because I want to use it.

And finally, in regards to denim, I am putting my denial of denim. I disarmed it last year with the intention of assembling it differently and then I got bored of working on it, so I put it at the bottom of the closet. This is how it looked before:

This is how the quantcha were seen before

I have all the boring things now (I * hate * the cutting fabric) and now I am working to gather it. Basically, I just reorganized the squares, cut them smaller and I am sewing them without the frayed edges at the top. I had several pieces of denim where I was playing with embroidery dental thread, so I cut them into squares too.

And while I am rebuilding it, it looks like this:

I turned to most of the squares next to a different appearance. I want to lie down instead of tie it when I finished, but I have no idea how to do it!

I also have other projects, but I have to go to the Eli baseball game, so I’ll keep them for later!

Estaremos encantados de escuchar lo que piensas
