However, I will start with a photo of the project, because * I love * how it turned out. Do you remember my corduroy coat, who loved so much that I ended up with three different sizes? When I had gained enough weight, the coat was no longer good (it was a means that fit on the small side). Thanks to Poshmark, I found it in a big and extra big one.
I used them during one or two season until I lost the weight and had been in a bag in the garage since then. I love doing things with old or unused clothes, so I decided to turn the coat into a bag. I used the false fur to make cat beds, and then used the corduroy for the bag. I also used a dress shirt for men for the lining (and the outer pocket). I had never sewn pipes before, so I decided to try it too.

Isn’t it cute? Jerry totally fell in love with this and I think it could be achieved as a «man bag» to use it as hand luggage. (Jerry got the position at the work he really wanted, and will probably involve international trips).
Speaking of sewing, now I have a new sewing machine! To make the most of the refund of the credit card, we literally place * everything * on a credit card and then pay it a couple of times a month. We never have a balance, but we receive 1.5-5% in cash (including the invoices that I pay with the credit card). I have always thought about this as my «bonus» money to take care of finance and pay bills on time, etc. I let the cash return accumulate and then «buy» something I really want, without feeling guilty. (I know I shouldn’t feel guilty for buying me something, but I think she is rooted with being a mother).
Anyway, I had a little more than $ 1,000 in cash reimbursement, and I decided to get a sewing machine. I did a lot with my old machine and worked well; But because I have been sewing a lot lately, I wanted a machine that was easier to go through multiple layers of denim and interface. It was divided between two opposite extremes of the spectrum with respect to the machine I wanted, be it a super basic machine of straight «horse», or a digital machine with embroidery and all the bells and whistles.
As you know, I like simplicity, especially with electronics. I decided to go for the basic battle horse machine. One of the things that really * wanted was a great space between the needle and the machine; I always hated trying to squeeze projects in that space while sewing. He was really overwhelming, trying to choose a model.
After reading a million reviews, I ended up buying a TL-200Qi juki. (I bought it from Ken sewing center Online and buy absolutely from them again: a customer service, some bonus accessories, * and * the lowest price). The machine was «only» $ 700 (I put that in quotes because my budget was $ 1000, not because $ 700 are cheap!
Isn’t it beautiful? 😉 I almost cried the first time I used it because I couldn’t believe the difference! It’s like sharpening your kitchen knives: you know how you don’t realize how boring they have become until they are sharpened and you realize that life is better with sharp knives? Yes, so. It is like the difference between cutting an apple with a butter knife versus a sharp zipper knife.
The table/car in which I have it is nothing beautiful, but I gathered it one morning because I was worried about dropping my sewing machine if I kept carrying it. Several months ago, he had bought a couple of table sheets from habitat restoration for humanity; They were solid oak and I got them for $ 5. So I passed them through the brush and hit them to make the table. Then I just made a frame with about 2×4 and beavels for mobility. It’s not pretty, but it’s perfect for my sewing machine!
Anyway, enough about that. I’ve been using it all the time and I love it.
The craziest happened to a few houses from us, and our neighbors caught him on video. The dike on the street separates the swamp from the road, and is quite high (and very steep, although it does not look in photos). Well, an intoxicated woman flew along the road on a truck, directly to the dike, and basically took half the dike while crashed into the swamp. (I mentioned that I had three children in the car? They were not seriously injured, fortunately).
There are children who play in the street there all the time. Not to mention people who walk through dogs and bicycles, etc. This happened around 3:00 in the afternoon, so he is very lucky that he has not hurt anyone else.
Noah and her girlfriend went to Ikea one day and she sent me this photo saying: «They have meatballs in Ikea!» I was so excited that they had really ordered them (Noah and Rose are not vegan). They said they were «incredible»; I always feel happy when people enjoy vegan food. And especially when they are open enough to try new things like that 🙂
Eli gave me the most beautiful flowers for Mother’s Day. I have always said that I am not a «flower person», I do not want anyone to spend money on something that will not last, but the fact that Eli even recognized Mother’s Day, everything alone. I feel good. And the flowers * are * very beautiful!
Eli was «urban exploring» with his friends in an abandoned factory and said it was really great, so he returned with Jerry and Noah. I am a «rules follower» and chose not to go, but his photos were really interesting. There were tons of personal items that have just left there when the place closed.
This is a bag that Ken’s sewing center sent me for free with my machine, I didn’t even know they were sending it! It is a really pleasant bag on wheels. His chick is already like to be pushed into him, hahaha.
Every time I finish a bag of some kind, kittens like to enter. It happens immediately. (This irregular bag was actually a kind of practice for the real * irregular bag that I wanted to do).
These are a couple of photos that I took before Eli’s graduation dance. I love this! He and his friends were standing between poses when Jerry said something about seeming that a proposal was about to happen, and it was as if they were totally at the moment when their friends pretended to take out a ring and propose to Eli while Sui another friend looked like Surprised and excited. They didn’t even know I was taking this photo. Very funny!
Children these days have no idea what this is. Jerry and I had to explain!
I will end this impressive photo of Phoebe as a cat goddess. Noah’s girlfriend sent me this to show me the new Phoebe necklace. (Phoebe is so quiet that it is easy to stumble with her, so they got it a collar with a bell). He is still very good and I know he is happy there. I went to cut my nails last week and I really saw her eat a whole container of wet food!
