An important home furniture retailer is presenting a new line of products designed to facilitate the lives of people with disabilities.

Ikea said this month that he is implementing a collection of accessible home articles. The line known as Bäsingen It includes a shower chair, two different stools and a handful of bath accessories.

«There are many people who experience shocking and common circumstantial changes that can make something as simple as challenging a shower,» said Wâtte Zijlstra, product design developer in Ikea. «The starting point for Bäsingen was a clear need for specific functions of products. Then, we expanded our reach through design to ensure that products are for many, since Bäsingen is created to support anyone in their daily lives.»

The items in the inclusive design collection are resistant, easy to grab and have soft edges, feet and holes not smooth for drainage, Ikea said. In addition, the products are offered in a dark color that was selected both to ensure that they are aesthetically pleasant and highly visible.

«The products were created to bring great functionality along with a beautiful design, since they have a minimalist expression that is rooted in our Scandinavian design tradition. Bäsingen should be combined independently of their style and that should not be something that needs to save or hide,» said Sarah Fager, Ikea’s senior designer.

Bäsingen is available in stores and in line with items that range between $ 11.99 and $ 38.99.
