Digital photos are part of life these days. If you have a phone, you probably have thousands of photos to accompany it. Some of you may have been downloading the same 20k+ iPhone photos for years! This is necessary and important because within these photos are our most valuable memories! Emotional attachment is what makes photos so difficult to separate. However, organizing photos can facilitate the search for memories, release space on your phone and cloud storage, and keep everything ordered.

How to organize iPhone photos
1. Use albums
While I would not recommend putting all the photos you take in an album, I think your most appreciated memories are better grouped in albums! This makes it easier to save them for the future (if you get a new phone, for example) or locate them quickly to share with others. I have albums in my phone for family photos (only the best), renewal of houses before and after (to share on the march) and beauty (to use for Instagram). The disadvantage of albums is that creating one is a manual process, and you can forget to add more over time. But the rise is that it will be the most cured for you.
How to create an album:
- Open the Photos application.
- Touch albums> New album.
- Name the album and select photos to add photos to an album.
- You can create thematic albums such as «vacations», «family» or «pets.»
2. Use the heart of the favorites
A much faster way to save favorites is simply to use the favorite function on the iPhone. This is very easy to do. Many people use this to save their memories in a favorite album and not worry about classifying them manually.
- Touch the heart icon in any photo to add it to the favorite album.
3. Use the intelligent search incorporated
Another less practical way of finding photos quickly is to use Smart Search. You can write anything in the search bar and iOS will extract excellent games.
- Touch the search for photos.
- Write keywords such as «Beach», «Dog», «Birthday Cake» or «Bald Head Island» to find recently aggregate or very old photos you are hunting!
There are also some scheduled utilities shortcuts such as receipts, handwriting, illustrations and QR codes that can help you find photos that you have saved or help you quickly remove the photos you do not want to store.
4. Remove the duplicates
To save space and quickly clean your camera roll, the photos application can also detect duplicates. I was 36 on my phone! This happens more frequently because I take a photo and then send it back to my phone to publish on social networks. Whatever the case, I can’t think of any reason to save duplicates! Fortunately, this incorporated utility allows you to find them and merge them in one in just a few clicks.
How to find duplicates:
- Open photos> move to profits> duplicates.
- Select the photos you want to merge.
5. Customize your photos application
In the most recent iOS 18 update, the photos application has a change of image. It has been a bit more difficult to find your favorites and other albums. But did you know that you can customize it to feel more like the ancient application? At the bottom of the photos, touch «Customize and reorder» and you can choose the albums and collections that you see and what order appear. I definitely did not need «tapestry paper suggestions» disordering my application! And I don’t use shared albums, so I also hid them. Knowing how to organize albums in the order that I want makes it easier to put the ones that most access to the upper part.
6. Do not support your photos
This is a strong opinion that I have to I teach in my course: Do not support your photo library. The reason is this: I take around 20,000 photos a year. Most of them are not worth saving. They are blurred, duplicate, screenshots, bad photos or simply moments that are not worth keeping, as a photo of an outfit to send a friend. Therefore, I only keep the best photos I take and take them out of my phone and keep them in Dropbox. That way, when I get a new phone, start again with only the albums I choose to carry. It is difficult to wrap your brain around this method, but as long as you are aware of the «best» load, you don’t have to worry about losing any memories. We will talk about applications that I can use in the next section!
7. Delete unwanted photos
But even if you are not going to back your photos in the cloud, it is still a good practice to regularly remove photos such as screenshots, blurred photos or unnecessary images. As mentioned above, the utilities function can facilitate the elimination of old screen catches. I also try to delete in the place if I take three videos and I know that the first two were not the clip I needed. The more I can stay on, the better it will be. What are the best applications to organize photos on iPhone?
Adobe Lightroom
Adobe Lightroom It is my choice application to classify and edit the best photos to save in my long -term dropbox. I do a weekly classification process, and it has a photo and video synchronization directly from my iPhone, so the new photos that I have taken since my last guy wait for me when opening. It is a paid service because it has an advanced edition, but for how it uses it, the price is worth it. The size of my photos also changes before exporting to Dropbox to save to occupy less space.
Google Photos
While the photos application is improving and smarter with things like the recognition and search of the face, Google Photos It has been the most organized free photos application for years. It is an excellent place to store their precious memories (while they let all their unimportant photos are deleted when you get a new phone).
Dropbox
While Dropbox It lacks the search and intelligent search characteristics of Google Photos, is my option for the storage of long -term photo because I also use it for files and things of the computer, so for me it is a storage center based on the cloud -based cloud paid all in one. Less applications = simplicity. You also get a ton of storage, so high -resolution videos and photos are easily saved. I export my photos from Lightroom to Dropbox to save in the long term.
