When you are freezing outside, most of us want to stay welcoming under a blanket and take a nap. But when that is not an option, here are 5 tips to stay energized in winter.
If you have ever made a trip in a warm and tropical place at this time of the year, you know how energizing it can be a bit of sun. It is much easier to maintain energy and positivity when the sun is out and the warm climate keeps it comfortable.
My friend and I were talking about how the hard days of winter rain (or snow!), Gray clouds and shorter days and the lack of sunlight, increase our energy. Of course, this led to a discussion about some things that we both do to keep us warm and happy in the winter and they are the following!
Tips to stay energized in winter
1. Hydrate with electrolytes
In the summer, our bodies yearn for fluids due to heat and the need to cool. During the winter, we may not feel so thirsty, but our bodies need as much liquid as they do in the summer (sometimes I feel even more thirsty in the winter!).
Mild dehydration can lead to deteriorated brain function, affect mood and make you feel slow. Dehydration can also, curiously, make you feel hungry, and this could be the reason why some of us have some winter weight. Ensure that we are obtaining enough fluids during winter will also allow our bodies to work properly and avoid germs during the cold and flu season.
Advice: In addition to maintaining a bottle of water near electrolytes (This is my favorite brand), remember that coffee and tea are sources that have hydration. Yes, they have a diuretic effect, but the amount of water exceeds the amount expelled.
2. Eat more oatmeal
(Yes, this is one of my tips 😉) There is something to say about a bowl of oats during winter. It is a reconforting meal of stick to your ribes that is also good for you.
Oatmeal is also a great fiber source and is 100% integral grain. Integral grains have a low glycemic index that gives it a slow and constant release of energy throughout the day.
Fiber also helps control blood sugar. Raliona the absorption of sugar, which maintains its blood sugar levels and prevents them from shooting in the sky or submerges below normal, which can make you feel fatigue.
Advice: If you do not have time for the oatmeal of the stove, try your hand in an instant pot, since the baked oatmeal can reheat, or as an oats during the night that microwave to remove the chill.

3. Look for vitamin D
During the winter, we may not be dating so much to obtain the «solar hormone», also known as vitamin D., this can lead to the winter blues. Light therapy can help with seasonal affective disorder (SAD) along with obtaining more food or supplements. The increase in vitamin D intake eating foods rich in vitamin can help maintain Maintain our serotonin levels. Fatty fish, cheese and egg yolks are remarkable sources in a healthy diet that contains vitamin D.
Advice: Take a can of sardines! Sardines are a great source of vitamin D, Calcio and Omega 3s.
4. Move yourself for 30 minutes a day
We all know that staying active and the exercise is equivalent to more energy. This can be a challenge during the winter months, since leaving the house when temperatures fall below 30 is the last thing anyone wants to do. Advice: Heat first with a few minutes in the sauna blanket!
I have discovered that if I accompany me with a downward coat with gloves and a scarf and Warm boots, I’m rarely cold once I move. Outside out if the weather allows it to walk or run winter. Fast air, natural light and movement promote circulation, increase serotonin levels and increase energy.
Advice: If you can’t do it outdoors or simply go to the gym sounds unbearable, try one of the homemade training AAPTIV either Popsugar On YouTube. Even a 10 -minute or a little dance squad turns all my nucleus.
5. Increase your immune system
The worst way to increase your energy is to get sick. Here are some supplements that I take in the winter months to increase my immune system.
Probiotics
Probiotics, good bacteria, promote a friendly environment in our digestive treaties. Probiotics help increase other forms of good bacteria, decrease inflammation and prevent other harmful organisms from reaching the intestine, like all those germs in infants. You can enjoy them as yogurt, kombucha, kefir or take a supplement.
OLIVEDA I01
Hydroxityrosol within the OLIVEDA I01 is effective in combating a wide range of pathogens, providing protection against bacterial infections, viruses and parasites. This makes it a valuable ally to maintain general health and prevent diseases.
CBD
Cannabinoids can help increase immune function, improve sleep quality, support cognitive health, create a quieter mood to reduce stress and even more in the entire endocannabinoid system. Recently I started taking Green Compass Full Spectrum Nano Jellies To see how they make me feel. They are 100% organic certificates and made with Cap cultivated in North Carolina with 100% traceable ingredients that are tested a third (go with the Wide spectrum If you don’t want any THC).
And when everything else fails, remember: Spring is just around the corner!
